God Trumps All

Hello Everyone!!
I hope you're having a great week thus far!

Last Sunday's sermon was definitely time appropriate and very encouraging.

There are quite a few people who are currently furloughed right now, but Pastor taught many and perhaps reminded others that

Furlough: a temporary leave of absence

He encouraged those who fell into this category to correctly use their speech, especially when other co-workers may be complaining or speaking in defeat. I'd like to stand with him and ask what are you doing during this temporary leave? Are there some projects you've been putting off because you haven't had the time? Well, here's your time. Have you been wanting to spend more time with God? Well here's some time to do so. I'd like to encourage you to make the best of the time you have until you're able to go back to work or until you get a new one if that's what you're looking to do.

We were told that our faith cannot be furloughed. It cannot be put on temporary leave in this season or any other season; it has to be consistent.

There are Biblical examples of how God can change the heart of the heartless ruler. One example mentioned was King Nebuchadnezzar. His heart was changed because he saw God in a few believers in his camp, including Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

The question posed to us was, are you willing to go through the fire to be a catalyst for change? When the fire is turned up, what is being said? What is your response?

2 Chronicles 7:14
if My people who are called by My name [thing is, we have to be called by His name. Do our hearts and our lives match? Do we look like we're called Christians?]  will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven [be encouraged in knowing that there's no barrier to your prayers. Yours reach the Father too. He can hear you all the way from heaven], and will forgive their sin and heal their land. [It's a formula!]

Bonus verse:
15 Now my eyes will be open and my eyes attentive to prayer made in this place.[Our hearts need to be that place that opens God's eyes and captures His attention]

The Government is on God's shoulders. He's in control, and if you are His, then you are covered.

God is our Source!
Never confuse a source with a resource. When that confusion happens, there is a lack of power.

Pastor provided us with a revised or another way of thinking about the source vs. the resource

Perspective 1:
Essentially, God is the source, and "all these other things" are the resources. If you seek first the Kingdom of God (source), all these other things (resources) will be added unto you (Matthew 6:33).

Perspective 2:
Breaking down the word "resource", Pastor + HS provided a different perspective of this concept:

Source: God
Resource: Us
By-Products/Results: The tangible things

[Re: again] + [Source: origin/genesis of the power] =
We should be the seen tangible experience of God here on earth.

What an honor!!

Everything else is the residual effect of the effective resource

You ever saw a resource not being used or being used inappropriately? It's not helpful, nor beneficial, and nothing comes from it. There are no results or by-products. Don't be an ineffective or unused resource.

Additional Affirming Scriptures:

1 John 4:4 NLT
But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.

Romans 8:37 NLT
No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory [more than conquerors] is ours through Christ, who loved us.

Bonus:
1 John 5:4-5 NLT
For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.

Keep Calm & Win, Overcomers!!
