Stop Complaining!

Hello Everyone!!
Happy Wednesday!

I hope you all were able to catch the Facebook Live to see the sermonette Pastor gave us last Sunday and I hope you all are doing well.

Pastor’s main point was to stop complaining!

He took the snow as an example and basis for the sermon. A lot of us complain about the snow, especially when it inconveniences us. But snow wouldn’t exist if there were no reason for it to exist.

Snow serves 2 of perhaps many other purposes:

1. Excellent Insulator of the Soil

2. When It Melts, It Helps Build Rivers & Reservoirs

The scientific knowledge is really good to know, but the spiritual revelations are also really good to know.

Snow Is An Excellent Insulator of the Soil.

“Some seasons we love wouldn’t be as pretty if not for seasons we didn’t enjoy.”

We have to fashion ourselves to not complain about the things that are necessary. We’ve all heard it before, but if seasons were always pretty, we would have little need for growth and God. Though those seasons can be inconvenient, we need them to help prepare and sometimes reset us in order to be ready for the seasons we really enjoy.

John 14:26 KJV

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

“Because He sent us a Comforter, there must be some discomfort in our cards.”

God is not a purposeless God. If anything, some things are done simply because He loves us. The things He’s done can always have a “because ___” after it because there is a reason whether we are enlightened on what it is or not. But the good thing is that He has provided for the discomfort that we would experience; He sent us the exact opposite of what we don’t want/like. We got a Comforter for the discomfort.

We have everything we need to navigate, but we complain as if we’re uncovered. That’s like having $1M, but talking as if you’re broke.

[Accidents of life come and there may not be any insurance, but there’s a blessed assurance because of Romans 8:28 àAll things work together for the good of those who love God and who are called according to His purpose.]

We’re too covered to complain and we shouldn’t take that covering for granted. We have to shift our perspectives and thank Him for the good. “Don’t be trained to complain; be trained to praise.”

Philippians 2:14 NLT

Do everything without complaining and arguing

Don’t sound like the world.

Philippians 4:8 NLT

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

There is always something that is praiseworthy when you’re covered.

When It Melts, It Helps Build Rivers & Reservoirs
Snow Melts – It’s Temporary!

The thing you’re complaining about is temporary. Try not to give it so much energy that you prolong it. Don’t waste your powerful words on complaints. Complaining only reinforces what you’re experiencing. You’re speaking and giving life to the discomfort instead of giving attention to and calling on the Comforter to intervene.
