FAITH

Hi Everyone!!

Last Sunday, we were given several definitions and reasons for why FAITH is important:

Faith is Necessary for a Vision to be Fulfilled and it's Needed Now and Later.

Hebrews 11:6 - But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

When God gives visions to us, I think it's safe to assume He trusts us to a certain extent that we'll be responsible enough to push that vision to fruition. The point Bishop was making here is that if you don't have faith, you aren't pleasing God and in turn, you likely cannot be trusted with the vision.

Faith is needed both now and later - now to prove that you believe that He is God, and later to prove consistency and trustworthiness (at least these are my reasons and understandings for the now and later)

Faith is the Key Ingredient for the Christian and the Christian Visionary

With faith being the currency of the Kingdom, if we, as Christians, would like to see and experience spiritual transactions, we're going to have to have faith.

In the Midst of it All, the Just Shall Live by Faith

Romans 1:17 - "For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

Habakkuk 2:4 - “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.

Your faith is not just for you, it's for others as well regardless of whether you're on a platform or you are just going about everyday life. What will people say about Jesus when they look at you?

Faith is a Gift from God for Our Advantage

Faith is a Muscle that Must be Developed

We're all given a measure of faith, but the difference in one man's faith from another man's faith is the amount of work they put into it.

Faith Doesn't Work in the Flesh

Romans 8:5-8 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

We have to pick one: flesh or spirit. Living in faith is a spiritual walk.

Faith Requires Retiring our Way and Other People's Way of Doing Things

Psalm 18:30a: As for God, His way is perfect

Faith Works; It's Proven

Psalm 18:30b-c: The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

The Word basically has the same principles and themes happening over and over again. His way being proven can be understood by reading His Word.

There are so many examples of faith in the Bible. If you don't know what faith looks like or can look like, do a Google search and find some examples of what faith looks like so that it can be practiced in your own life.

Hebrews 11:5 - By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
